When the producer of WGN-TV’s House Smarts program asked if they could feature our stone carving shop on an episode of the Lou Manfredini-hosted show, we said we’d be delighted! The episode’s focus was “stone carving for the home”, which is exactly what we do. It’s a great opportunity to get a little “peek behind the curtain”, and see our French Master Carver Olivier Dumont, and his team at work, and, to hear what inspires Olivier as he works with stone.
On October 15 and 16, Atelier Jouvence opened its doors to the public as a site host for the first-ever openhousechicago, organized by the Chicago Architecture Center. Over the two days, we had an amazing 250 people stop in for tours and carving demonstrations. We were also asked to help Open House Chicago in a pre-event promotional spot on Chicago’s WGN TV, October 13, which featured our own Olivier Dumont hand carving the WGN logo while the upcoming event was being promoted.
